Yooper pasty

Our take on the Michigan pasty. Filled with local Mast farm beef and pork with potatoes, rutabaga, onion, salt and pepper

Miners have hearty appetites. They work hard during cold Michigan mornings. So, when the whistle blows for lunch, it’s time for a pasty. The meat turnover was brought to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula by immigrant miners from Cornwall, England, and “Yoopers” — the local population — hold them dear to their heart.

So we took the UP variation of the Cornish recipe and made them here in Vienna,VA for our Yooper friends.
